When we published the first edition of The Sand Mountain Leader in July — has it really been that long? Time really does fly when you are having fun! — we had readers tell us, “What do I have to do to make sure I get this newspaper every week? Do you offer subscriptions? I’ll be glad to pay you.”
It was a huge compliment at the time, honestly, I can’t tell you how much it meant to me and the staff, and one that has continued to this day. Even though we put 10,000 copies of The Leader out on Sand Mountain for free every week, we have readers who tell us every week they want to make sure they don’t get missed when we blanket the community.
You can check our Facebook page. You’ll see many of those comments.
It’s taken us a little while, we had some logistical issues to work through, but we have finally come up with the solution to this great problem to have. Want to make sure you receive The Leader at your home every week? We can make that happen.
As our readers initially proposed, all you have to do is subscribe.
You won’t find a better value on Sand Mountain or beyond. Subscribing to The Leader will only cost you $35 a year. That’s 52 issues a year for only $35, and all you have to do to get signed up is call our office at 256-907-0077 or email Jonathan Bottomlee at [email protected].
Think about what a great Christmas present this would be for you and for someone you love. Or maybe two or three people you love. Family. Friends. Subscriptions to The Leader for all this Christmas! 🙂
Does this mean we are going to stop putting The Leader out in homes and stores for free? No, absolutely not. Our free print distribution will continue throughout Sand Mountain, as well as, our free online and social media platforms.
But for those who don’t want to take a chance on missing a single edition, or are tired of having to be the first one at a single-copy location to find a free one because they go so fast, we are offering a subscription, or a membership if you will, to the newspaper as an option.
This will be your sure-fire way to follow The Leader.
Take advantage or take your chances. Completely up to you! Please know we value and are grateful for your support of The Leader either way. Gosh, I think I already hear that phone ringing? Merry Christmas everybody!
